Dr. Janina Jänsch
Dr. Janina Jänsch is Director-General SMEs, Future Technologies, Startups at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, a position she
has held since June 2025.
She brings broad leadership experience across the public and private sectors. From 2019 to 2025, she served as Managing Director of the Federal Association for People with Physical and Multiple Disabilities (bvkm) in Düsseldorf and Berlin. Before that, she led the Foundation "Help for Families in Need – Foundation of the State of Brandenburg" in Potsdam (2018–2019) and Alpha Project GmbH in Cologne (2015–2018). Earlier in her career, she worked as a research associate at the Institute for Economic Policy and the Chair of Economic Policy at the University of Cologne (2007–2013).
Dr. Jänsch holds a doctorate in economics from the University of Cologne, where she also completed her studies in regional sciences with a focus on economics. She began her academic journey with studies in business administration at the University of Mannheim.
